Good, good, good, good vibrations! Stan Galli's Souther California captures some really feel good vibrations of California during the 1960's. A stylish blond with golden suntan is captured in front of happy vacationers, palm trees and a minimal modern architectural building in the background. Stan Galli made the location "neutral" since it was intended to promote the entire South of California. It could be Santa Monica, yet it could also be Palm Springs.

Here is another fantastic vintage poster which was created by one of the most talented American illustrators of the 20th century, Stan Galli. Stan Galli's San Francisco depicts a colorful San Francisco scenery with the classic Cable Car making its way through Chinatown with the Golden Gate as the backdrop.

Stan Galli was one of the leading illustrators of the 1950's and he became famous for his illustrations for advertising in magazines and covers for some of the best known publications including National Geographic, Readers Digest, Fortune. He was also one of the leading illustrators for United Airlines, General Motors, Pacific Telephone in the 1950's and 1960's. We will try to make a small tribute with many of his creations on our blog.

Russian Art

We love this wonderful poster which depicts a most-likely very competitive boat race in the Soviet Republic. This poster dates back to 1971. Wonderful color composition and structure. Unknown artist.

IBM and Piet Mondrian

Let's rewind the clock, just a bit, to 1964 when IBM released this minimalist computer masterpiece which was dubbed the IBM 360. A machine that is utterly brilliant, like a painting by Piet Mondrian with clean minimal lines.

Perhaps this entire room could fit in an iPod nowadays, but whenever we (up)grade to the next technology, we always leave a bit of ourselves behind, and can only reminisce of the great eye candy of yesteryear, ever fading, farther and farther away, until it is totally forgotten.

Cloud

Who wouldn't like to sleep on a fluffy little Cloud? Cloud is the concept sofa of the future. Cloud is a sofa concept designed for ultra comfort and relaxation. The soft floating upper part is supported by the magnetic force generated by the bottom base. No matter if you want to work and sit with comfort or simply a power nap to release the stress, you can always enjoy your time to relax on the floating cloud. Cloud is great for little naps as well. At this time, Cloud is not in production yet. But we are first in line when it becomes available.

The Cloud concept was designed by David Koo and Zheng Yawei for Kootouch.

This beautiful sectional table set made history in the design world and became an overnight legend after its release in 1969. Four sections identical to each other make up the Quattro Quarti 4/4, a versatile practical table made of injection- moulded ABS plastic. Thanks to the use of inserts (also made of ABS) the sections can be stacked on top of each other to create a modular bookcase. While by joining the elements together in a number of different ways, circular or undulating tables can be created. Quattro Quarti 4/4 is a perfect fit in a residential setting or for commercial locations where it can be used for display purposes. This is one of the best modern tables that was ever made.
