Dahlia Wall Lamps

Dahlia wall lamps, designed by Janne Kyttanen and Jiri Evenhuis. Design should be the focus of attention for Dahlia, with its softly illuminated chrysanthemum-like petals, but how it's made, using stereolithography to 3-dimensionally "print" this lamp, is equally compelling. Freedom Of Creation is proving without a doubt that with these RM tools and materials they are free to create anything. In fact, in addition to the new lamps, they've now expanded into fashion accessories. Punchbag, a handbag and Paris, customizable evening sandals, are both made of polished polyamide using rapid manufacturing techniques. Dahlia is inspired by themathematics of nature and arrangement of flower petals. It leaves an astonishing shadow on the surface where it is mounted and a very subtle light on the petals.

This is how we live
Space age futuristic living on acid with Haus-Rucker's Living Capsule from the 1960s (shortly after this they had kids and moved to the suburbs in a cookie cutter which they covered in white plastic). Unfortunately some of us have to wake up sometime.

Passiflora Lamp by Superstudio

Passiflora is a very unique modern table lamp with an attractive shape. This classic icon of Italian design was created by Superstudio in 1968. The inspiration for the Passiflora lamp is a delicate Passion Flower which rises at an angle from the base. Its body is made from white opaline plastic and the flower from yellow plexiglas. Passiflora emits a gently diffused ambient light which creates a special atmosphere. The Passiflora lamp is part of the permanent design collection at the Pompidou Centre in Paris. It is widely recognized to be one of the most important design lamps of the 20th century. Made in Italy.
Superstudio was known for its libertine attitudes and experimental design concepts, which is clearly evident in this amazing lamp creation. Exploring the fine line between practicality and beauty of objects, Superstudio's Passiflora lamp certainly bridged the gap.
