Passiflora Lamp by Superstudio

Passiflora is a very unique modern table lamp with an attractive shape. This classic icon of Italian design was created by Superstudio in 1968. The inspiration for the Passiflora lamp is a delicate Passion Flower which rises at an angle from the base. Its body is made from white opaline plastic and the flower from yellow plexiglas. Passiflora emits a gently diffused ambient light which creates a special atmosphere. The Passiflora lamp is part of the permanent design collection at the Pompidou Centre in Paris. It is widely recognized to be one of the most important design lamps of the 20th century. Made in Italy.

Superstudio was known for its libertine attitudes and experimental design concepts, which is clearly evident in this amazing lamp creation. Exploring the fine line between practicality and beauty of objects, Superstudio's Passiflora lamp certainly bridged the gap.
