A crisp classic; Timo Sarpaneva's iconic 'Timo' drinking glass returns.
Timo Sarpaneva's first international recognition in glass work came with a Grand Prix from the Milan Triennale in 1954. His classic Scandinavian 'Timo' water glass is a functional and elegant Scandinavian design classic. It holds 12 fl. oz. and although it is a perfect water glass; it can also be used for juice, latte, tea as well as any other cold- or hot drinks. Timo Sarpaneva was an influential Finnish designer, sculptor, and educator best known in the art world for innovative work in glass, which often merged attributes of display art objects with utilitarian designations. When Finnish glass designer Timo Sarpaneva presented this glass design, he said he thought it was his best glass ever. His reasons: the glass is thicker at its widest diameter so it's cooler to hold when filled with a hot beverage; the tapered bottom is comfortable for small hands to hold; the tapered top helps to prevent chipping in the dishwasher. An elegant water glass to pair with your favorite stemmed wine glass.
