BMW M1

The BMW M1 is getting closer to achieving iconic status, at least in part because of its rarity. In the above series for Classic Driver, international jet-setting man of style Jan Baedeker pays tribute to the BMW M1 and its sublime Uber-Minimal Dieter-Rams-Style design. 

The BMW M1 was styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro who also created the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT, the DeLorean DMC-12 and the Lotus Esprit S1. Only 456 production M1s were built, making it one of BMW's rarest models.
