Lago Di Garda in Italy

Lago Di Garda, Italy

We love the remarkable contrasting colors of Lake Garda and its towns which have captivated artists throughout the ages. Lake Garda was one of Gustav Klimt's favorite vacation spots. The way the light colors the lake and its surroundings is truly very special. Lake Garda (Italian: Lago di Garda or Benaco) is the largest lake in Italy. It is located in Northern Italy, about half-way between Venice and Milan. Glaciers formed this alpine region at the end of the last ice age. The lake and its shoreline are divided between the provinces of Verona (to the southeast), Brescia (southwest), and Trento (north). Being easily accessible from the north via the Brenner pass, the lake is a major tourist destination. There are plenty of good hotel choices. Some of the best include Hotel Marconi, Hotel Catullo and Residence Hotel Florida. And if you truly want the best, you may want to indulge yourself with a stay at the Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli.
