Kartell Louis Ghost Chair Philippe Starck

The Kartell Louis Ghost Chair is a classic Philippe Starck design, still going strong. Postmodern updates of classic designs are all the rage. (See chandeliers made from white ceramic antlers, screen-printed plastic bud vases—etc.) So it’s not hard to believe that Starck’s design, which renovates the traditional Louis XIV armchair with its single molded sheet of transparent polycarbonate, moves nearly 200,000 units each year for the Italian manufacturer. It doesn’t hurt that the durable material can be used inside and out, in commercial and residential settings. "It is a traditional chair with a twist that makes it incredibly versatile," says a Kartell spokesperson.

The Louis Ghost Armchair, designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell, takes the classic Louis XV chair and gives it a truly modern twist. Louis can be used inside or outside to give a playful modern edge to your home. Made from a single-mold injection in clear polycarbonate.
