Space Age Gherpe Lamp

Classic icon of space age design: Superstudio's Gherpe lamp. Gherpe is one of the most desirable lamps ever made! Gherpe is a very unique modern lamp with an attractive changeable shape thanks to its six concentric arches that revolve around a central pivot. This classic icon of Italian space age design was created by the Italian design firm Superstudio in 1967. Its body is made from laser-cut and heat-formed Perspex in white or fluorescent pink. It has a chrome-plated brass fitting and uses one (1) 60W incandescent light bulb. The Superstudio Gherpe lamp is part of the permanent design collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It is widely recognized as one of the most important design lamps of 20th century design. Made in Italy.
