Elio Martinelli Serpente Table Lamp

Elio Martinelli: Serpente Table Lamp
Designed by Elio Martinelli for Martinelli Luce, Italy, 1965.

Another great example of design inspired by nature is the Serpente lamp, designed after, you guessed it, the Serpente Snake. Elio Martinelli designed the Serpente table lamp for Martinelli Luce in 1965. The Serpente lamp has become one of the classic icons of 20th Century Design and can be found in museum collections worldwide, including the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art New York. This beautiful lamp features gently soft curves. It is an amazing example of Space Age Design.

Table lamp with diffused light, swiveling upper arm, hemispheric white opal methacrylate diffuser, metal lacquered structure in white.

Permanent Collection: The Metropolitan Museum of Art New York.
