High Fashion in the Desert

The rugged landscape of the desert has been inspiring architects, designers and photographers since the early dawn of the 20th century.  By the late 1960s, model Veruschka became a muse for an entire generation after she was famously photographed in Egypt and Arizona by notable photographers Henry Clarke and Franco Rubartelli.  Recent examples include the images of Brazilian photographer Autumn Sonnichsen with Anneke Dürkopp as his muse and the desert storm fashion shoot by Marcus Ohlsson for Velvet Magazine.
