Nanimarquina Losanges Modern Rug by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec
The Losanges rug was created and designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in collaboration with Nanimarquina in Spain. The Bouroullec brothers continue their study of simplicity and elegance with their new Losanges collection. It’s about reinterpreting the traditional Persian rug using the ancient kilim technique. Technically complex, the Losanges collection requires great skill as it involves combining 13 colors through the geometrical rhombus shape, a great challenge for the craftsmen of Northern Pakistan. As well as being crafted by hand, the Afghan wool is also spun by hand, which allows for some unique color tones to be highlighted which make each rhombus different and each rug a unique item.
"We've always been fascinated by the traditional Persian carpets, specifically by the ancient technique of kilim which is a delicate blend of rusticity and finesse. We had the chance to see this project done by the artisans of northern Pakistan who have combined skill with thirteen colors and reproduce the geometric shape of the diamond. Besides being crafted in the traditional way, the Afghan wool is spun by hand, thereby highlighting the unique color tones. This technique makes each random lozenge subtly distinct and each carpet, a singular piece." - Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec

Tectus is based on a model and drawings under the names "System 618" by Jo Niemeyer from the year 1996. Tomohiro Nakamura picked and followed up with the idea to a later moment. The result is a timeless and creative toy for young and old.
The many times by the golden ratio seperated cube is covered by black areas. In the game those become fundaments, walls or roofs and the player to real architects. Everything inserts very harmonic into each other.
In mathematics and the arts, two quantities are in the golden ratio if the ratio of the sum of the quantities to the larger quantity is equal to (=) the ratio of the larger quantity to the smaller one. The golden ratio is an irrational mathematical constant, approximately 1.6180339887. Other names frequently used for the golden ratio are the golden section (Latin: sectio aurea) and golden mean. Other terms encountered include extreme and mean ratio, medial section, divine proportion, divine section (Latin: sectio divina), golden proportion, golden cut, golden number, and mean of Phidias. The golden ratio is often denoted by the Greek letter phi, usually lower case (φ).
Mostly the line proportion is used in art and architecture as ideal proportion and as ambodiment of esthetic and harmony.
For the Swiss company Naef it was a impulsion, to bring the object at the end of 2008 under the name "Tectus" on the market. Without Tomohiro Nakamura it would have never came so far, the idea and the copyright are Jo Niemeyers, who workes with the golden ratio since centuries in the category of concrete art.
For all Naef toys are only high quality woods from ecological platation growth in Europe and only quality colours of highest amicability are used. From the baby age to the senior participants, the different products offer happyness and enjoyment and convey creativity and fantasy.

Modern Sculptures by Tony Smith
Tony Smith Sculptures
We love the modern geometric sculptures by Tony Smith. Tony Smith was an leading American sculptor, visual artist, architectural designer, and a noted theorist on art. He is often cited as a pioneering figure in American Minimalist sculpture.
"I don’t make sculpture. I speculate in form." - Tony Smith
Tony Smith (1912-1980) made more than 50 large-scale sculptures between 1960 and his death in 1980. Their distinct black finish and geometric forms represent one of the supreme achievements in American sculpture, and his unique vision has proven enormously influential on subsequent generations. A contemporary of the Abstract Expressionists, many of whom were his close friends, Smith studied architecture, then began painting in the 1930s before turning to architecture full-time in the 1940s to support his family. It was not until the late 1950s that he began to make sculpture, and he had his first one-person exhibition in 1966. That same year, Smith was included in Primary Structures, one of the most important exhibitions of the 1960s, at The Jewish Museum, New York.
In 1998 The Museum of Modern Art, New York, mounted a major retrospective of Smith's work, including his architecture, painting, and sculpture. His work is included in most leading international public collections, including those of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; MoMA; Tate Gallery, London; and the Centre Pompidou, Paris.

Foscarini Twiggy Floor Lamp. Twiggy's natural elegance, lightness and flexibility have been re-proposed and re-worked for new applications. The table version re-proposes the sinuous elegance in scale for use on desks, whereas the concept’s characteristic flexibility finds its maximum expression in the ceiling version that resolves the problem of decentring the light point. Elegance, lightness and great lighting effectiveness are declined in the lamp versions that – being available in two sizes – guarantee ample application potential thanks also to the chromatic variants that allow a calibration of its expressive strength. As a designer, Marc Sadler has worked a long time in the sports sector, where he's experimented with new materials and innovative production processes. Has also worked successfully in furnishing and consumer products.
Ample, linear, essential design combined with strong flexibility characterise the formal elegance and light sophistication of Twiggy. Floor lamp made of lacquered composite material on a fiberglass base. Includes dimmer.
